Welcome to our Mission, our Passion, our Love. We are glad you are here. Mission: Salt + Light; we are a group of people located in the Portland, Oregon area who have a calling to help, give, love and support the community and people around us. We have been called to help those close to us, close to those around us, and those who we interact with knowingly or unknowingly each and every day.
As a group we have a primary focus on children and families who have been impacted. For the past year or two our focus has been Little Lights where we work to get our children involved in different causes through unique projects. You can see our past efforts by clicking on the Little Lights link/tab above.
Overall here are some of the non-profits that we work with and help support. To learn how to get involved please feel free to email us at: info@MissionSaltLight.org
Embrace Oregon connects caring community members with vulnerable children and families in partnership with the Department of Human Services. We are dedicated to the flourishing of every child.
Safe Families for Children was created to offer a temporary safe home to thousands of children while freeing up their parents to focus on the crisis at hand. It also provides the parents with the support and tools they need to address the crisis so they can eventually reunite with their kids and thrive.
Additionally, unaccompanied youth or those aging out of foster care are given the opportunity to be a part of a stable, loving family until they are ready to be out on their own.

Second Home, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, works together with the homeless liaisons of the Beaverton School District, the Beaverton Dispute Resolution Center of the Mayor's Office, and volunteer home-providers to find stable housing for young people who want to finish their high school education. We have recently expanded the program to serve students in Lincoln County and Gresham-Barlow School Districts, as well. Second Home is a ground-breaking example of how a community can respond to the issue of youth homelessness and support those who want to finish their high school education.
HomePlate supports the positive development of young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability through community building, education, access to services and resources, and youth empowerment.
Refugees are proven victims of persecution that flee their homelands in search of hope, justice and a safe place to raise their families. Most refugees suffer unthinkable tragedy in their homelands and arrive in the U.S. with next to nothing, and knowing no one. Multicultural Community Services (MCS), a program of LCSNW, is contracted with the U.S Department of State to help refugees rebuild their homes, and their lives. Though refugees have lost everything, they are amazingly resilient and revitalize our communities with fresh ideas, unique strengths, and cultural variety. MCS refugee resettlement services include: Reception and Placement & Refugee Case Services, Volunteer Opportunities, Cash Donations and Donations of furniture and household items
